Police: Hour of Duty: Episode 7 (S3EP7 Channel 5 Monday 8 August 2022)

The Derbyshire Police are tested to the absolute limit in this Best Of compilation program’s one hour of drama and suspense. The search for a man sought after in connection with a string of violent robberies that have terrified the neighbourhood begins the night. When they do locate him, the man protests that he is not the wanted person. However, this one-man crime wave may be over when detectives discover the weapon he’s been waving in front of store clerks across town under a mattress.

A block of apartments is on fire, and the residents are still inside, according to a state zero emergency call that officers throughout the county receive. The race to evacuate everyone has begun as the fire brigade is late. However, when one apartment owner doesn’t answer his door, police begin to worry. Officers blue light a man who has been seen carrying a big knife into a nearby supermarket across town. The store is crowded, and customers are in grave danger. Will the police be able to take the man’s weapon away before anyone is hurt?

Back at HQ, a specialist unit is preparing to catch a suspected drug dealer red-handed. According to intelligence, he has been entering the city while transporting Class A drugs and has repeatedly avoided arrest. Six units are sent to stop his car because the police want to beat him today at his own game. However, a high-speed car chase starts when the dealer sees the police, and it continues until he abandons his car and tries to flee on foot. Will the police be able to catch up with him and successfully prosecute this seasoned felon?

Finally, a frantic call comes in from a member of the public reporting a gang of people fighting in the street, and one of them has a machete. Police blue light to the street, but everyone has vanished. Officers have a hunch they know who one of the suspects might be. Knocking on his door, no one is home, but a search of the empty house reveals an empty machete sheaf on the kitchen table. Seconds later, the man returns to the scene, and is immediately arrested. But when he starts to abuse officers, the situation quickly turns ugly.
