Two separate emergencies have put a strain on the Police Rescue team in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

While police respond to a call about a woman who is experiencing excruciating back pain, a second crisis is developing at Wentworth Falls.

A man fell six metres down some very steep stairs right next to the edge of a cliff, and he may have some pretty serious head injuries as a result. Officers need to quickly devise a rescue strategy because a massive storm is on the way.

After a partygoer on Sydney Harbour breaks his leg, the boat must dock unexpectedly. It will be difficult to get him ashore without interrupting the festivities.

And in the city, officers are called to break into a home after worries are voiced about the safety of the elderly resident, who hasn’t been seen for days.
