Queen Of Trucks airs Monday 4 July 2022 on BBC Three
Meet the 27-year-old owner of a trucking school who is out to change the haulage industry, encourage more young people to drive, and lessen the HGV driver shortage.
Fun-loving Shannan Paterson is on the fast track to success and has grand plans to expand the West Midlands-based family business to meet demand. She assumed control of the business during a difficult time for the family, but as the daughter of a seasoned HGV driver, trucking is in her blood.
Viewers will get a front-seat view of her driving school, based in Willenhall, where young learners can bag their licence by completing an intense five-day crash course.
Juggling the business with helping to raise her younger sister, Shannan is also trying to get her own HGV licence with help from veteran instructor and dad, Trevor.
With in-cab fixed cameras and access behind the scenes at the training centre, the film explores how and why people are drawn to the industry.
Shannan is now cashing in on the current boom but has even bigger plans to champion young learners further at her driving school.
Queen Of Trucks has been produced for BBC Three and BBC England by Acclaimed Content, an independent production company based in Birmingham.
Airdate: Monday 4 July 2022 at 8.00pm on BBC Three.
