“He’s kicked me right in the machismo”
In The Road the girls are finding that life on the road is not a laugh a minute, although all three of them find their own comforts. Anna is spending a lot of time with Derek, Dee has her first groupie and Q is getting rather close to a journalist from Rolling Stone who wants to do a piece on the girls. After travelling the country including a very rough week in Glasgow the girls are really starting to hone their act and embracing the freedom that The Road offers.
Quite funny when Dee’s boyfriend Spike, who is all right on free lovin’ intellectualism, discovers she has been sleeping with groupie David and is none too pleased. There are two dream sequences in this episode, very moody spotlight led song In The Lamplight and the full on The Road.
Watch out too for comedian Dustin Gee (who would go on to be a staple of 1980’s Saturday night TV in partnership with Russ Abbot and Les Dennis) as a very strangely attired DJ.
