In Simon Gray scripted comedy drama Femme Fatale the arrival of beautiful Italian woman Maddalena has a disturbing effect on the men of sleepy Devon village Meryton. She soon has every man lusting after her and some are even prepared to kill to get her.

Femme Fatale was Simon Gray’s sixth and last script for Screen Two. A strong cast included a rare TV appearance for Donald Pleasence and there were key roles for Colin Welland and Simon Callow but there were familiar faces all through the cast. The most unfamiliar turned out to be Maddalena herself, played by newcomer Sophia Diaz (this was only her second TV credit). Despite a strong performance here her acting career never eventuated to much.
