Today Saturday 28 January 2023, there is a new episode of Secrets of the Royal Palaces.
Episode 4 The great lost palace of Greenwich. It was built in the 1600s but has since fallen into disrepair and been steadily dismantled, leaving behind only a few intriguing ruins. The wine cellar that Henry VIII had built was constructed to last and to the highest of standards.
Jonathan Foyle has exclusive access to this extraordinary chamber. The Queen’s House, the only component of the palace that has been preserved in its original state, was the country’s first example of Classical Design, and we visit it as well.
