Softly, Softly: Signed Off (S9EP2 BBC One 19 Sep 1973, with Bob Hoskins)

In Signed Off PC Felly has failed to return to the police station and is is missing. Is there anything sinister in his disappearance, or is there a simple explanation? He has in fact been taken prisoner by a gang planning a robbery on a warehouse.

Ray Lonnen plays Felly, The year before he had begun a regular role on Z Cars (the show that Softly Softly was a spin off from) playing Det. Sgt. (later Inspector) Moffat. Somewhat surprising to see him here demoted back to PC status. The highlight though is Bob Hoskins, it’s his nervy Parker that is spotted by Felly in the first place. Hoskins is his typically brilliant self.
