Survivors Episode One (BBC-1 23 Nov 2008)

Feature length 90 minute opener for this reboot of the 1970’s classic. A group of disparate people, among them suburban housewife Abby Grant, former systems analyst Greg Preston, jailbird Tom Price and school teacher Jenny Collins, slowly come together when a devastating virus wipes out 99% of the world’s population.

This first film length episode of this re-imagining of the classic seventies series spends most of the episode, much like the first episode of the original series, dealing with the break down of society. People who remember or have seen the original will be shocked by how many changes have been made but it works in its own right as strong piece of drama.
