Suspicion Nobby's Turn ITV 1972

In Nobby’s Turn Nobby is a coal miner and generally thought of as a bit of a lad. He willingly admits that he has always had a thing for Polly, the wife of his best mate Jack even though he has a steady girl in the shape of a local barmaid. When Nobby’s girl decides to head off to pastures new in Nottingham he announces that it’s high time he got himself a new woman anyway. But will it be Polly….

The writer of this episode, Roy Minton, is probably best known for the play Scum (about life in young male offenders unit aka Borstal) which was originally due to be broadcast in 1977 by the BBC but was banned until it was finally screened 27 July 1999. Meanwhile a feature film version was released in 1979.
