Target: Lady Luck (BBC-1 21 Oct 1977, with Alan Lake)

Target Key Art

In Lady Luck a top criminal who is a major Target for Hackett and his team finds the boot is on the other foot when his teenage daughter is kidnapped. The “Target” Ruby Daniels doesn’t seem overly concerned in getting back his daughter claiming he doesn’t have the cash available meanwhile his son Frank is determined that whatever happens his dad is finished.

Familial discord and son trying to outdo father is at the heart of this sixth episode. It’s always good to see the likes of Alan Lake (who was famously married to Diana Dors) and the lovely Joe Gladwin (who unfortunately is killed in the opening minutes) too. Lake is quite an under rated actor who too often got type cast in thuggish but could pull off the delicate stuff if given the opportunity.
