In The Girl on the M1 an entry in the Armchair Theatre strand of single plays, ‘lorry driver groupie’ Veronica wants to start a new life.

Lorries, cars, coaches – speed. The M.I. pushes northward, a vital artery and a way of life. A way of life, that is, for girls like Veronica who earn their crusts fraternising with the lorry drivers. But Veronica is given a chance to escape from the endless pick-ups. Can a girl like her forget the past and start again.
