The Great House Giveaway: Somercotes – Chantelle and Jaspal airs Friday 9 June 2023 on Channel 4.

Simon O’Brien commissions architectural designer Jaspal and trainee painter and decorator Chantelle to transform a rundown property in Somercotes, Derbyshire, into a fresh and modern family home within six months and a reasonable budget. Many terrifying things become apparent as they try to add a new bedroom. The house has rising damp, a sagging floor, and roof leaks. They plan to do as much of the work themselves as possible in order to cut costs. However, interpersonal tensions emerge as a result of the job’s demands, and they soon find themselves significantly behind schedule.
