The Teacher with Tourette’s: airs Sunday 14 May 2023 on Channel 5.

Natalie Davidson has coprolalia, a rare form of Tourette’s syndrome that causes her to swear. She is the only teacher in the United Kingdom to have this condition. She quit her job teaching at a Birmingham comprehensive to take on the challenge of assisting those with the most severe forms of Tourette’s to be accepted in the workplace. At the University of Nottingham, Natalie is putting a cutting-edge wearable device through its paces to see if it can help control the more extreme tics that some people with Tourette’s experience.
