TLC Forever: Premiere (Lifetime Saturday June 3, 2023)

TLC Forever: Premiere airs Saturday June 3, 2023 on Lifetime.
The most successful female music group in American history, who have left an indelible mark on popular culture with their music, message, and style, are the subjects of this full-length documentary.
Directed by Matthew Kay and executive produced by Roger Ross Williams (The Apollo), winner of an Oscar and an Emmy, and his production company, One Story Up, as well as Emmy® Award-winning producer Geoff Martz, T-Boz and Chilli tell their story for the first time in this documentary.
In 1990, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins founded TLC in Atlanta, Georgia. The group achieved massive success, selling over 85 million records worldwide, winning 35 awards, and having nine top ten singles (including four number ones with “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Unpretty”). Along with their four Grammys, five MTV Video Music Awards, and five Soul Train Music Awards, they have nine top ten singles under their belt.
However, there have been many problems they’ve had to overcome. Darkness, controversy, tragedy, internal fallout, external attack, financial ruin, and illness are just some of the things they’ve had to deal with. The tragic passing of Left Eye in 2002 caught everyone off guard. Despite their widespread acclaim, the band felt betrayed by the entertainment industry, sending them into a downward spiral of depression and confusion. With perseverance, love, and unity, TLC were able to triumph over their adversities. A new tour is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2023.
