Troppo Episode 4 (S1EP4 ABC TV Sunday 20 March 2022)
Joanne (Caroline Brazier), Lauren’s (Rachael Ward) mother, returns to her house in Crimson Lake after a year away. Memories of Lauren abound, but Damford (David Lyons) is on hand to offer his support.
Amanda (Nicole Chamoun) ventures to the rainforest to meet Twist (Simon Lyndon) on his own turf. She probes him about Lars (Bryan Probets) and Jong Min (Sonny Le). Amanda is stunned to learn that Twist is a snake breeder and venom milker by trade.
Yoon Sun (Sun Park) and Ah Rah (Yerin Ha) face questions from Ted and Amanda about the affair. Ah Rah has photos showing Jong Min and Olivia (Kate Beahan) entering a hotel together, looking cosy. Upon learning Olivia paid a visit to the house to retrieve some hard drives, Ted and Amanda take another look in Jong Min’s study – and discover a new address in the puzzle box. The address leads to a marina boat shed, where Bryce (Josh Helman) is overseeing the unloading of mysterious goods. Ted and Amanda recognise his motorbike – a clear connection to the cane shed.
Olivia defends herself against Roy (Damien Garvey) and the board over the affair accusation. Roy presses her further in private, informing her that Park’s laptop has been returned and that he was downloading sensitive files. He suspects that Park may have been preparing to sell IP to a rival.
On her way home, Amanda stumbles across a live crime scene manned by Damford, Hench (Ling Cooper Tang) and Val (Angela Punch McGregor). More of Jong Min’s remains have washed up.
After two days of playing phone tag with his wife, Kelly (Radha Mitchell) calls Ted with a bombshell: she’s selling the house, taking Lilly (Molly Wright) and moving to Perth. Ted tells her he’ll come with them, but she doesn’t want that. Leaving a stunned Amanda completely in the lurch, Ted races home to pack a bag.
