UK Drama Dark River Premieres Mon May 30 on Netflix
This drama, loosely based on Rose Tremain’s novel Trespass, stars Ruth Wilson (His Dark Materials) as Alice, who returns to Yorkshire for the first time in 15 years after her father’s death to claim the tenancy of the family farm she believes is rightfully hers. When she arrives, she runs into Joe (Mark Stanley, Sanditon), her older brother, whom she barely recognises.
Joe is taken aback by Alice’s sudden appearance, enraged by her claim, and finds her presence increasingly difficult to deal with.
In order to reclaim control of the farm in a precarious situation, Alice must confront traumatic memories. Dark River will be available on Netflix on Monday, May 30.
