A restoration team is working on reenacting the first seaplane flight in Britain on Lake Windermere. In order to give the Royal Navy a bird’s eye view of the skies in advance of the First World War, Winston Churchill personally supported the Waterbird in 1911. But it turns out that using Edwardian technology in the air is more difficult than anyone anticipated.
