The gloomy tale of the people of the Outer Hebrides’ isolated Scottish island of Todday as their whisky rations run dry during World War II. When the SS Cabinet Minister, carrying precious amber nectar, runs aground, the islanders outsmart the bumbling English Home Guard commander, Captain Waggett, and devise a plan to hide away cases of the liquid.
