Who-Dun-It Murder Goes To School ITV 1969

In Murder Goes to School, Cynthia Park is investigating the apparent suicide of a student at Brede Manor School for girls. There is clearly more to the suicide than meets the eye and when a second death quickly follows it is clear there is a murderer on the loose. When Cynthia discovers evidence of pagan witchcraft rituals she finds her own life in danger.

More strong casting in this one, the gorgeous Madeline Smith is one of the key players, a young Gillian Blake, best known for her iconic role as Dora on Follyfoot, makes only her second TV appearance as one of the schoolgirls. The fabulous Joan Hickson, a brilliant character actress and best known for her role as Miss Marple in the BBC’s sumptuous 1980’s adaptations, is one of the teachers whilst other familiar faces include Derek Fowlds, John Horsley and Joan Benham.

Margaretta Scott also appears, one of those actress with a long film career (her first credit is 1934’s The Private Life of Don Juan) who by this stage was settling in for mainly small supporting roles in TV show. However she managed to become something of a TV favourite very late in her career with her role as Mrs Pumphrey in All Creatures Great and Small.
