Episode Summary
This series takes viewers on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure as it follows some of the most extraordinary railway journeys in the world from above and on the ground. As we soar above breathtaking landscapes and investigate remarkable engineering, we get to know the people who operate and maintain these amazing railroads as well as the locals who live nearby.
The Bergen Line, which connects Norway’s second city of Bergen with its capital, Oslo, is filmed from the air as it travels through the country’s western fjords, soars to the snow-covered Hardanger Plateau, and descends through dense forests in the series finale.
Along the way, we discover how a committed group of people manages to keep the line open in a difficult setting by removing snow and ice, discouraging wildlife, and mending broken trains.
