Yuli: The Carlos Acosta Story airs Sat 15 Jan on BBC Two



Directed by Icíar Bollaín and written by Paul Laverty, this feature-length film, inspired by the 2007 UK best-selling autobiography No Way Home, follows Carlos Acosta (nicknamed Yuli by his father) on his journey from growing up on the streets of his native Cuba, through his time at the country’s National Dance School, to performing at London’s prestigious Royal Ballet.

Presented by The Match Factory, BBC Films and Creative Scotland, a Morena Films and Potboiler production, co-produced by Producciones De La 5TA Avenida, Match Factory Productions, Galapágos Media and Hijo De Ogun A.I.E, with the participation of Movistar+, and the support of ICAA, Eurimages, German Federal Film Board (FFA) and BerlinMedienboard.
