Not the finest of the Carry On films but still possessing enough of the requisite humour, visual jokes and, of course, double entendres to make it an enjoyable romp. Kenneth Connor plays Captain S. Melly in charge of a mixed anti-aircraft unit in the middle of nowhere whose authority is undermined by the arrival of a new major (Peter Butterworth).
Attempting to keep his unruly charges (including Judy Geeson, Patrick Mower, Jack Douglas, Joan Sims and Melvyn Hayes) in line with the help of formidable Sergeant-Major Bloomer (Windsor Davies), and himself out of trouble, provides the plot but with, of course, many amusing diversions along the way.
