Don’t Bother to Knock (TCF 1952, Marilyn Monroe, Richard Widmark)

Marilyn Monroe impresses as an unstable babysitter, Nell Forbes, who is hired to watch a child at a hotel suite. She meets Jed Towers (Richard Widmark), who has just been dumped in the lobby, and they get acquainted quickly while the child waits in another room. When the child interrupts their tryst, the creepy thriller begins to unfold as Forbes’s instability puts all those around her, especially the child, in danger. Each revelation adds a little bit more to the babysitter’s creepiness.
