I Married an Angel (MGM 1942, Jeanette MacDonald, Nelson Eddy)

Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy’s last film together is an adaptation of a Rodgers and Hart musical about a playboy who is seduced by his dream that he’s married an angel. Comes off as rather odd, but the title song and ‘Spring is Here’ are highlights.

MGM tried to get Vera Zorina, the star of the successful Broadway musical of the same title, to star in I Married an Angel (1942), but her contracted studio, Paramount, wouldn’t release her.
