Jaws: The Revenge (Universal 1987, Michael Caine, Lorraine Gary)

The ill-tempered Great White Shark is back in this fourth instalment of the film series. Directed by Joseph Sargent, the film opens with Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary), who is now widowed and living in Martha’s Vineyard, forced to endure the death of a child from a shark attack. She moves to the Bahamas, but the shark follows her with the apparent intent of killing her and her remaining sons. It’s up to Ellen to end this curse and make the waters safe again.

While making Jaws: The Revenge, Michael Caine won his first Best Supporting Actor Oscar, for his performance in Hannah and Her Sisters (1986). Sadly, his filming schedule for Jaws prevented him from accepting the award in person.
