A young Robert Redford stars with Michael J. Pollard in motorcycle racing action film Little Fauss and Big Halsy. Two motorcycle race-loving slackers, Halsey Knox (Redford) and Little Fauss (Pollard), team up for cross-country misadventures when one loses his racing card while the other knows almost nothing about racing. But there’s a big competition in California, and nothing will stand between them and fast motorcycles.

While making their way from the South out West, the opportunistic and callous Knox and greenhorn Fauss rescue a woman (Lauren Hutton) who has escaped a biker gang. Personalities clash as the two compete for the same woman and on the racing track.

Lynn Guthrie, who was hired as an assistant director for Little Fauss and Big Halsy, did double duty as a stuntman. His hobby was motorcycle racing, so he took time from his directing duties to shoot the action footage.
