Amy Poehler and Tina Fey star in Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore’s comedy Sisters. Maura Ellis (Poehler) is Skyped by her parents (Dianne Wiest and James Brolin) to say they’ve put their Orlando home on the market so they can move to a plush retirement complex, and they want Maura to tell her fiery-tempered sister Kate (Fey) the news.
The siblings are poles apart: childless divorced nurse Maura continually tries to help others in any way she can, while single-parent Kate is an irresponsible party animal, much to her teenage daughter’s (Madison Davenport) embarrassment. Arriving in Florida, Maura and Kate are furious to find their childhood home already sold and, apart from their belongings, clean and empty. While clearing their old rooms, they read diary extracts to each other, making Maura realise how staid her youth was, so Kate decides to throw Maura the wild party she never had as a teenager. But for the sale to go through, the house must be kept in perfect condition – and the party soon gets out of hand…
