Venom (2018, Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed)

In the surprisingly good humoured Venom, down on his luck TV investigative journalist Eddie Brock has his life changed when he begins investigating a sinister corporation headed by Carlton Drake. Drake just happens to have got his hands on a trio of powerful alien-life forms – who need a human host in order to survive on the planet. Drake is planning to create a new race of super humans but things go awry when Eddie breaks into Drake’s headquarters and ends up paired with one of the aliens.

Not an official entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the movie is made by Sony but Stan Lee does get his usual cameo in!
