Week-End at the Waldorf (MGM 1945, Ginger Rogers, Walter Pidgeon)

An updating of Grand Hotel (and predating Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite) following romantic mix-ups between Rogers and Pidgeon and Turner and Johnson with music by Xavier Cugat and humor courtesy of Benchley. No better than expected, but good fun.

Look for ‘Rumba King’ Xavier Cugat, who also provides some music, in a bit part as himself.
