White House Down (Columbia 2013, Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx)

Surely should be subtitled Die Hard At The White House but what a blast! Channing Tatum is Capitol cop who gets turned down for a job with the Secret Service, in particular the detail guarding President James Sawyer.

Deciding to take his daughter on a tour of the White House, by way of compensation for himself and not wanting to let her down, Cale is caught up in an invasive and definitely hostile take-over by a paramilitary group who are hellbent on taking over the country. But Cale of course is not going to take this lying down.

It’s not a movie to win awards but you sure do get plenty of bang for your buck.
