Paramount+ has set a return date for the second season of its popular Yellowstone prequel, “1923.” Circle Sunday, February 23, 2024, on your calendars, as the Duttons ride again.
Along with the premiere date announcement, Paramount+ dropped not one, but two teaser trailers. While brief, these glimpses hint at what’s in store for the Dutton family. A brutal winter seems to be descending upon Montana, bringing with it a fresh set of trials for the beleaguered clan.
Season two will find Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) on separate, perilous paths, struggling to reunite amidst the looming threats. Back at the Yellowstone, Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara (Helen Mirren) continue to face challenges to their land and legacy. The new season looks set to offer another dose of sweeping Western drama, complete with stunning landscapes, family feuds, and enough grit to rival a Montana blizzard.
Alongside Ford and Mirren, the returning cast includes Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, Timothy Dalton, and Jennifer Ehle. The ensemble cast suggests that the scope of the story will remain vast, exploring multiple storylines and character arcs.
If you’re feeling a bit rusty on the Dutton family history, or simply want to revisit the first season’s dramatic twists and turns, Paramount Network has you covered. Beginning Sunday, December 8, the cable channel will air “1923” season one, with two episodes airing each week through January 5th. This conveniently timed re-airing serves as a lead-in to the new season, allowing fans to refresh their memories before the February premiere.
“1923” is a key piece of Taylor Sheridan’s ever-expanding universe on Paramount+, joining a stable of shows that include “Landman,” “Special Ops: Lioness,” “Tulsa King,” “Mayor Of Kingstown,” “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” and “1883.” With Sheridan’s continued success in the Western genre, “1923” is in good company.
“1923” returns for its second season on Sunday, February 23, 2024 on Paramount+.
