OWN is betting on some yuletide bling with its new holiday movie, 24-Karat Christmas. Jewelry designer Trish might want to double-check her shipping labels next time. A mix-up with some very important wedding rings sends her on a pre-holiday scramble, and wouldn’t you know it, throws her right into the path of a handsome best man.
Trish, played by Samantha Marie Ware, accidentally sends the rings meant for a Christmas Eve wedding to…well, the wrong address. With time ticking and the bride potentially turning into a bridezilla, Trish has to get those rings back. Enter Book Mosely, the best man, portrayed by Curtis Hamilton. Together, they embark on a ring-retrieval mission that might just lead to more than a successful package delivery.
OWN has carved a niche for itself in the holiday movie game, churning out feel-good flicks that are as predictable as they are comforting. Will 24-Karat Christmas break the mold? Probably not.
