On Saturday, October 12, CBS’s 48 Hours will broadcast never-before-seen images and investigate the disappearance of 23-year-old Jermain Charlo, a missing mother from Missoula, Montana.
CBS Saturday Morning co-host and 48 Hours contributor Michelle Miller examines Charlo’s story, which began in June 2018 when she went missing. In an effort to generate leads, the Missoula Police Department has released security camera footage. Detective Guy Baker of the Missoula Police believes that “someone out there knows what happened to Jermain Charlo.” He encourages anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that even the smallest detail could be crucial to the investigation.
The released video footage shows Charlo outside the Badlander bar, speaking with her ex-partner, Michael DeFrance, who is also the father of her two children. DeFrance claimed that Charlo left her phone in his car, which he subsequently threw away. However, he has not been named as a suspect.
As the search for Charlo continues, Detective Baker compares the investigation to a puzzle with missing pieces. He believes that just one or two additional pieces of information could be the breakthrough they need to solve the case. Jen Murphy, an educator and photographer who has actively participated in searches for Charlo, joins the call for anyone with knowledge about the case to come forward.
48 Hours: Where Is Jermain Charlo? airs on Saturday, October 12, at 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and streams on Paramount+.
