This post-season edition of 60 Minutes features updated, previously broadcast segments that will air on the CBS Television Network from 7:00-8:00 PM ET/PT.

The first segment, “Agency in Crisis,” takes a look at the federal prison system, which has long been considered broken and opaque. Cecilia Vega goes inside a women’s prison in Aliceville, Alabama, where she speaks with inmates about their concerns. Vega also interviews Colette S. Peters, the director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as the agency faces staffing shortages, aging infrastructure, and a pattern of abuse.

In the second segment, “The Godfather of AI,” Scott Pelley interviews Geoffrey Hinton, the “Godfather of AI.” Hinton speaks about the promise and potential risks of advanced artificial intelligence, a field his research helped pioneer.

The episode concludes with “The Underboss,” a profile of Steven Van Zandt, longtime guitarist, and musical director for Springsteen and the E Street Band. Jon Wertheim reports from backstage at a Bruce Springsteen concert in Rome, where he talks to Van Zandt about his childhood in New Jersey, his friendship with Springsteen, and his involvement in political activism. The segment also explores Van Zandt’s perspective on the evolving music industry and what makes him an American original.
