7 Little Johnstons Season 15 Premiere Recap: “Party in My Crib”

7 Little Johnstons Key Art

The Johnstons are back for another season of heartwarming chaos, and this time, there’s a new addition to the crew. Season 15 kicks off with the arrival of baby Leighton, daughter of Elizabeth and Brice, and let’s just say, things are a little more crowded (and a lot sleep-deprived) in the Johnston household.

Leighton’s birth is a big deal for the family, not just because she’s adorable (which she is), but also because she’s average-sized. This is a first for the Johnstons in recent years and meant a C-section for Elizabeth. While everyone is thrilled to welcome Leighton, the transition to parenthood has been, shall we say, an adjustment. Brice, in particular, seems to be struggling with the whole sleep deprivation thing, resulting in some, ahem, grumpiness.

To help the new parents navigate this challenging time, Elizabeth, Brice, and Leighton have temporarily moved in with Amber and Trent, who are now officially “Nana” and “Boppa.” Yes, the already full Johnston house is even fuller. And as if a new baby wasn’t enough excitement, Trent and Amber are also celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The Johnston kids, never ones to miss a chance for a good party, pulled off a surprise anniversary bash for their parents, featuring stations representing different stages of their lives. It’s a sentimental journey down memory lane, and yes, there were tears (of joy, presumably).

Amidst the celebrations and diaper changes, Elizabeth learns a valuable lesson about accepting help. While she initially wanted to be a super-independent mom, she realizes that sometimes, even superheroes need a little backup. And speaking of backup, Jonah is also back in the family fold, making the Johnston house a true full house once again.

The surprise anniversary party truly brought everything full circle, reminding everyone of the family’s journey over the past 25 years. From the early days to the present, it’s clear that the Johnstons are all about family, love, and support. And with the addition of little Leighton, there’s even more love to go around.

7 Little Johnstons airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on TLC.
