9-1-1: Lone Star “Impact” (FOX, Monday, January 27, 2025)

9-1-1 Lone Star Main Cast

Just when you thought the 126 had seen it all, an asteroid decides to crash the party. Because with just a couple of episodes to go – why not? “9-1-1: Lone Star” returns with “Impact,” an episode that throws a celestial object into the mix of the usual Texan-sized emergencies. So, alongside the standard fiery car crashes and precarious rescues, the folks in Austin will be dealing with the slight inconvenience of impending planetary annihilation.

As if a potential asteroid strike wasn’t enough, Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) finds himself at a crossroads, wrestling with a decision about his future. Considering his past choices often involve spontaneous career changes and questionable life decisions, it’ll be interesting to see where this one lands him. Maybe on the moon? It seems like a logical next step.

Elsewhere, Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) receives some devastating news. “9-1-1: Lone Star” doesn’t shy away from piling on the personal drama, and this episode appears to be no exception. Let’s hope Tommy finds some support amidst the chaos, preferably from someone who isn’t about to be flattened by space debris.

And then there’s the doomsday prepper. Naturally, a guy who spent his life preparing for the end of the world gets trapped in his own meticulously crafted bomb shelter just when the end of the world might actually be happening. It’s the kind of ironic twist that this show thrives on. The 126 will, of course, have to dig him out, presumably while dodging flaming asteroid chunks.

Oh, and amid all this, T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva) continue to grapple with the anxieties of adopting Jonah. Mateo (Julian Works), meanwhile, finds his immigration status threatened after a brawl.

“Impact” features the standard large ensemble cast, including guest appearances from Derek Webster, Wayne Knight, and Miles Mckenna. Tune in to FOX on Monday, January 27, 2025, to see how the 126 handles an asteroid, a trapped prepper, and the usual dose of personal turmoil.
