9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 Episode 10 Recap: “All Who Wander”

9-1-1 Lone Star Main Cast

Well, the winter premiere of 9-1-1: Lone Star didn’t exactly ease us back into things gently. “All Who Wander” delivered a hefty dose of emotional turmoil, primarily focusing on Judd’s battle with alcoholism. While the show occasionally leans towards melodrama, this episode mostly managed to avoid the usual pitfalls, thanks to a solid performance from Jim Parrack as Judd. We see him grappling with Grace’s absence (Sierra McClain, off doing missionary work), feeling the weight of caring for their two children, and increasingly isolated. His secret drinking problem comes to a head during a fire at an armory, where his reckless behavior puts himself and others at risk.

Owen (Rob Lowe), having seen his own son, TK (Ronen Rubinstein) through addiction, recognizes the signs and steps in, offering Judd a place to stay and a much-needed dose of tough love. Judd finally confesses the depths of his despair, admitting he’s been struggling with a crisis of faith. This storyline, while heavy, felt earned, offering a glimpse into a character we thought we knew.

Meanwhile, Marjan (Natacha Karam) faced a different kind of crisis: parental disapproval. Her traditional parents, Waleed (Michael Benyaer) and Nasreen (Anne Nahabedian) weren’t thrilled about her relationship with Joe (John Clarance Stewart), creating some fairly predictable family drama. However, a crisis call involving a family emergency gives Marjan the impetus to stand up to her parents and assert her independence, ultimately leading to a heartwarming reconciliation and a hastily arranged wedding before her parents’ departure. The 126, naturally, rallies for the impromptu celebration, providing a welcome touch of levity amidst the episode’s heavier themes.

The episode ends with a quietly powerful moment. After nearly relapsing, Judd reaches out to Grace, finally confessing his struggles. Whether this marks a turning point in their relationship and his recovery is yet to be seen, but the scene offers a glimmer of hope.

9-1-1: Lone Star airs Mondays at 8/7c on FOX.
