Expect the unexpected on this week’s “9-1-1,” airing Thursday on ABC. “Seismic Shifts” brings a literal earth-shaker to Los Angeles, as the 118 responds to a devastating high-rise apartment building collapse. It’s a mass casualty event, the kind that pushes first responders to their absolute limits. Amidst the chaos and rubble, Athena and Chimney find themselves on a particularly personal rescue mission – the person trapped beneath the debris is someone they know.
As if a massive building collapse weren’t enough, the team is also dealing with the emotional fallout of a recent loss. Will the 118 manage to pull off another miraculous rescue? How will the team deal with the emotional toll of the disaster while still reeling from their own grief?
