90 Day: The Last Resort: The Last Rodeo (TLC, Monday, December 30, 2024)

90 Day: The Last Resort Key Art

Is “90 Day: The Last Resort” the final stop for these rocky relationships, or just another layover on the turbulent flight of international romance? Monday’s episode, “The Last Rodeo,” suggests the former, as prescribed intimacy exercises seem to do little more than highlight the deep-seated issues plaguing these couples. Frankly, watching folks awkwardly attempt to reconnect through forced physicality isn’t exactly must-see TV, but the trainwreck potential is undeniable.

We find Natalie seeking redemption after an argument at a club, though whether her apologies will land remains to be seen. Given the show’s track record, it’s a safe bet that any olive branch offered will be promptly snapped in two, followed by a torrent of recriminations and possibly some poorly-translated insults. Meanwhile, the men bond in typical awkward-dude fashion until the women arrive, presumably to shatter the fragile peace with some pointed observations about said awkwardness.

“90 Day: The Last Resort,” at its core, is a social experiment exploring whether strained relationships can be mended through intensive therapy and manufactured moments of togetherness. So far, the results appear less than promising. But hey, at least there’s plenty of manufactured drama to keep viewers entertained, even if it’s at the expense of these couples’ emotional well-being.
