Abbott Elementary “Science Fair” (ABC, Wednesday, February 5, 2025)

Abbott Elementary Key Art

We all know teachers are competitive. Whether it’s for the best parking spot, the last slice of sheet cake in the breakroom, or bragging rights over whose classroom holiday decorations are most Pinterest-worthy, educators can be a fiercely ambitious bunch. This week’s Abbott Elementary, “Science Fair,” turns its lens on this particular brand of teacherly rivalry.

The annual science fair at Willard R. Abbott Elementary School is typically a showcase for the students’ questionable experiments involving baking soda volcanoes and suspiciously uniform potato batteries. But this year, the teachers are getting in on the act, injecting their own adult neuroses into what should be a celebration of youthful scientific inquiry.

While ostensibly supervising their students’ projects, Janine, Gregory, Barbara, and Jacob find themselves drawn into an unspoken competition to have the “winningest” class. Expect meticulously crafted dioramas, last-minute trips to the craft store for extra glitter, and perhaps even some ethically dubious “assistance” provided to certain favored students.

Will Janine’s enthusiasm backfire? Can Gregory maintain his composure amidst the chaos? And will Barbara finally lose her cool and unleash her inner mad scientist? Tune in to ABC on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 8:30 PM to witness the academic carnage unfold.

Abbott Elementary airs Wednesdays at 8:30 PM on ABC.
