Acorn TV Crime Drama “Monsieur Spade” Will Premiere Sunday January 14

AMC, AMC+, and Acorn TV have announced that the limited crime drama series, Monsieur Spade, will premiere on Sunday, January 14. The show stars Clive Owen as the notorious detective Sam Spade and is co-created, written, and executive produced by Scott Frank and Tom Fontana. The series consists of six episodes and is set in 1963 in the South of France, where retired detective Sam Spade is enjoying a peaceful life until a series of brutal murders at a local convent disrupts the town. The murders are connected to a mysterious child with great powers.
Alfre Woodard and Dean Winters have been announced as guest stars on the show, playing the roles of Virginia Dell and Father Matthew, respectively. The series was shot on-location in France and features a cast that includes Cara Bossom, Denis Ménochet, Louise Bourgoin, Chiara Mastroianni, Stanley Weber, Matthew Beard, Jonathan Zaccaï, and Rebecca Root.
Monsieur Spade is produced by Black Bear and co-produced by Haut et Court TV, with executive producers including Barry Levinson, Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Clive Owen, Caroline Benjo, Barbara Letellier, Simon Arnal, Carole Scotta, Carlo Martinelli, and David Helpern. The series is distributed internationally by FilmNation Entertainment.
