Acorn TV UK’s April lineup includes new episodes of the Acorn TV Original series Recipes for Love and Murder, starring Maria Doyle Kennedy, and the return of Dalgliesh, featuring Bertie Carvel as the insightful detective.
Here’s the Lowdown: Recipes for Love and Murder returns with eight new episodes. A large fire in the town of Eden sets off a chain of events, drawing Tannie Maria (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Jessie (Kylie Fisher), and Khaya (Tony Kgoroge) into a multiple murder investigation that reveals the town’s hidden secrets. New episodes air every Monday through to April 14.
What This Means Now: Fans of both shows have new episodes to enjoy. Dalgliesh, based on P.D. James’s novels, is set in 1979, and the third series presents Detective Adam Dalgliesh (Bertie Carvel) with three challenging and sensitive cases.
The Bigger Picture: Dalgliesh’s third series includes three distinct cases: “Death in Holy Orders,” involving a murder at a seminary; “Cover Her Face,” set in the home of a wealthy family; and “Devices and Desires,” featuring a string of killings linked to anti-nuclear campaigners. Series three is available as an “Exclusive Binge” from April 7, with all six episodes released at once.
