Adam and Ryan Thomas have been confirmed as the hosts of ITV’s new gameshow, 99 to Beat. The Thomas brothers are set to team up for the first time as presenters on the show, which has been described as a mix of Taskmaster and Squid Game.
The eight-part series, which is already successful in seven countries, will feature 100 contestants competing in “visually distinctive and often hilarious games”. The contestants will go head-to-head in a variety of challenges, with the number of players gradually reducing after each round. Only one lucky contestant will take home the cash prize.
The Thomas brothers, known for their appearances in Emmerdale and Coronation Street, as well as reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, are expected to bring their cheeky banter and close relationship to the screen. ITV bosses believe the duo will appeal to fans of Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning ITV, said: “With their infectious laughs and undeniable warmth, I couldn’t think of anyone more befitting than Adam and Ryan Thomas to front this exciting new series. With them at the helm, 99 to Beat is sure to be a supremely entertaining watch.”
