The BBC has announced the premiere date for its new three-part Agatha Christie adaptation, Towards Zero. All episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday, March 2, 2024, with weekly broadcasts on BBC One starting at 9pm that same night.
Here’s the Lowdown: The series, based on Christie’s classic novel, is adapted by Rachel Bennette and directed by Sam Yates. The story is set in 1936 at Gull’s Point, a coastal estate. A messy love triangle forms the core of the mystery, featuring tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland), and his new wife Kay (Mimi Keene). Anjelica Huston plays Lady Tressilian, with Matthew Rhys as Inspector Leach and Clarke Peters taking the role of family lawyer Mr Treves.
What This Means Now: Fans of Agatha Christie mysteries can binge-watch the entire series on iPlayer from March 2 or watch it unfold weekly on BBC One. The cast also includes: Anjana Vasan, Jack Farthing, Adam Hugill, and Grace Doherty.
The Bigger Picture: This follows the success of the BBC’s 2023 Christie adaptation, Murder is Easy, which was a major hit. Towards Zero is a co-production between the BBC and BritBox International, with global distribution handled by FIFTH SEASON. The series was filmed in Bristol and along the Devon coast. The BBC continues to bring classic mysteries to a new audience.
