Ainsley Harriott returns to ITV1 with a brand-new series, Ainsley’s National Trust Cook Off. The first episode, airing on Saturday, 18 May 2024, at 11:40 am, sees Ainsley visit the Wimpole Estate in Cambridge, one of the series’ three featured National Trust locations renowned for their kitchen and walled gardens.
In each episode, Ainsley invites two guest chefs to join him in an al fresco cook-off, challenging them to create dishes using fresh produce sourced directly from the Trust’s kitchen gardens. In this inaugural cook-off, Ainsley is joined by chefs Poppy and Sam, who bring their culinary skills to the picturesque kitchen garden of the Wimpole Estate.
The series, consisting of 10 episodes, highlights the talents of great chefs and also celebrates the beauty and bounty of the Trust’s gardens and estates. Aside from the culinary competition, Ainsley takes the time to meet and interact with the dedicated staff and volunteers who tirelessly maintain these gardens and estates, picking up useful gardening tips and tricks along the way.
