Alan Titchmarsh, the green-thumbed TV host, continues his quest to transform unruly canines into well-behaved companions in “Underdog to Superdog.” This week, he tackles a Labrador with a penchant for kitchen countertops and a Cocker Spaniel whose incessant barking could rival a car alarm.
First up is Duke, a Labrador belonging to lawyer Kizzie. Duke’s counter-surfing skills are impressive, if not entirely desirable. Dog trainer Jo-Rosie Haffenden steps in, aiming to channel Duke’s energy into something more constructive: stunt dog training. The challenge? A Wild West movie scene, complete with saloon doors and (hopefully) no stolen snacks.
Meanwhile, Cocker Spaniel Bonnie’s constant barking is driving her owners to distraction. Expert dog trainer Becki Gude assesses the situation, suspecting that beneath the noise lies a dog with the potential to be a valuable assistance dog for the elderly. If Becki can quiet Bonnie down, she’ll be put to the test in a residential care home, tasked with opening cupboards, fetching glasses, and turning on lamps.
This episode of “Underdog to Superdog” offers a mix of practical training tips and heartwarming transformations, proving that with the right guidance, any dog can become a superdog.
