World War II continues to cast a long shadow over the idyllic Yorkshire Dales in the Season 5 premiere of All Creatures Great and Small. “To All Our Boys” finds James Herriot (Nicholas Ralp) facing a medical crisis that keeps him grounded and raises concerns about his future.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Hall’s (Anna Madeley) efforts to contribute to the war cause lead to unexpected complications. These personal struggles play out against the larger backdrop of wartime Britain, as the villagers of Darrowby grapple with rationing, uncertainty, and the ever-present threat looming overseas.
