The BBC Two series Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby returns for its sixth season, taking viewers on a journey to seven remarkable hotels worldwide. Barrister and broadcaster Rob Rinder and chef Monica Galetti go beyond the lobby to explore the inner workings of these hotels, from Bhutan’s mountains to Malaysia’s rainforests and Rome’s historic streets.
In this season, Rinder and Galetti immerse themselves in the daily operations of these diverse establishments, working with staff and discovering the meticulous attention to detail that defines their service. They also learn about the cultural, personal, and visionary aspects that shape each hotel.
The series highlights a range of unique hotels, including the Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland, built into an abandoned quarry; the ancient cave hotel Argos in Cappadocia, Turkey; and the Six Senses Ibiza, which offers a spiritual experience on a well-known clubbing island.
They also visit the historic Hassler hotel in Rome, the Datai Langkawi in Malaysia’s rainforests, the remote Gangtey Lodge in Bhutan, and the organic farm and hotel Stanglwirt in the Austrian mountains, which has been in operation for 400 years.
The series premieres on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two on Thursday, September 12, at 8:00 PM.
