The latest episode of Ambulance: Code Red, airing on 5STAR on Monday, 9 September 2024, at 9:00 pm, presents a series of critical medical emergencies requiring immediate attention.
In Worcestershire, Critical Care Paramedics Will Meadows and Mike Andrews rush to the scene of a serious road accident. 52-year-old Nick, out for a ride on his motorbike, was thrown from his vehicle and now complains of neck and shoulder pain. However, as the paramedics assess the situation, they suspect a potential chest injury, which could lead to severe complications if left untreated.
Simultaneously, in Birmingham, a distress call comes in for 40-year-old hairdresser Lesa, who has collapsed unconscious in her salon. Dr. Hadassah Ihlenfeldt, Critical Care Paramedic Ash Mulindar, and Trainee Dan Read respond to the emergency. Lesa, an epileptic, has a dangerously low breathing rate, prompting concerns that she may have accidentally overdosed on her medication. The team must act quickly to revive her and transport her to the hospital for further treatment.
In Stoke-on-Trent, 80-year-old Anne suffers a fall at home, going unnoticed for five hours until her daughter discovers her. Critical Care Paramedics Kerry Penn-Ashman and Fay Pollock arrive to find that Anne’s injuries are more severe than initially thought. She has broken her leg and wrist, and the lack of blood flow to her hand raises concerns of potential amputation. The paramedics must work swiftly to stabilise Anne and address her extreme pain.
Additionally, Critical Care Paramedics Will Meadows and Grant Salsby join forces with an ambulance crew to respond to an 83-year-old man suffering a cardiac arrest at home. With the patient showing no meaningful heart rate for over an hour and a half, Will and Grant are faced with challenging decisions in an emotionally charged situation.
