“American Dad!” returns to TBS this Monday with “Silicon Steve,” an episode that finds the Smith family facing the 21st-century dilemma: to stream or not to stream? While the family experiments with cutting the cable cord, young Steve goes full-on tech entrepreneur, spending his summer developing an app.
Details are scarce about the app itself, but knowing Steve, it’s bound to be something… unique. And who are these “unlikely companions” he’s partnering with? Given the show’s penchant for the absurd, one can only imagine.
Meanwhile, back at the Smith residence, the cable-free experiment is likely to cause its own brand of chaos. Stan, never one to embrace change (or anything remotely resembling frugality), will probably have a meltdown of epic proportions. It’s the kind of comedic dysfunction that “American Dad!” does so well.
